New YorkTrip

I decided to go on a trip to NYC last weekend. Totally had a blast, and got to discover a new part of NY I've never seen. Soho/Bowery is definitely where my heart belongs...so my heart is now officially split between Santa Monica, Bowery, and Osaka.

Decisions. Decisions.

But anyway, I have a few pix of the NY experience in Manhattan. This trip definitely reminded me of how much I love to travel and now that is on the top of my to do list. Still deciding about winter break...either NYC (though I don't want to go when there's snow), or California. I'm thinking San Diego...

Pictures! [Sorry in advance there are A LOT]

Arriving in NYC

Hostel/Hotel:
The Bowery House

Loved this hotel a lot. Granted, the hotel rooms are quite small and a bit noisy at night, the area and decor is well worth it. If it hadn't been for discovering this part of NY, I would still kind of dislike the place. The shops and boutiques around Prince Street are to die for, and the atmosphere is just really nice.

Food:
Soho Park & Lombardi's
This burger from Soho Park tasted fresh off the grill. Drooling just thinking about it.
Oldest Pizzeria in America? So much yes. Pepperoni filled with flavor, and the softest dough.
Hotdog from a random stand. Can't get much more NY than that.
(left) Beer from Soho Park (middle) Juice Press Raw, Vegan, Organic Smoothie (right) Bowery Coffee Decaf Iced Espresso

Sights and Views!

If you have the chance to go...I say do it!

 Till next time...

Reflecting on Life

Tonight, I get ready for a trip to NYC in the morning. I am excited to have a day off from work and to get out of town. It is amazing to think of all that has happened within the past year. Often I think about how beautiful life is, and how it changes within the blink of an eye. Everything I knew last year has drastically changed, and although I am proud of where I am today, I still reminisce in the past. A year later, a year stronger. But whenever I am uncertain, I love to look to the sky. To all the mystery within life and beyond...

Few New Things

 Summer's almost over but whatever!

Have a few "new" things I forgot/was too lazy to blog about. Hoping this will get me back into the swing of things!

So a couple of months ago I picked up these sandal booties from DSW. The brand is called Levity, which I've never heard of, but they're pretty awesome. Love the style, simplicity, and slight edge.
Close ups!

Also made my first Nasty Gal order a little while ago. I meant to do a review, but never got around to it. Short version: I like the website and styles, but not all of the brands/quality. It honestly reminds me of the fashion district in Downtown LA, but with the prices so-so. Some items are good to okay quality, while some were a bit disappointing. I think the tags sewn into the items really gives it away.

....

I'd rate it a C.
I ordered a tank, long sleeve top, and this faux leather jacket. While I liked the tops, they were a bit over priced and not worth mentioning. But the jacket I absolutely love!

Next up are some goodies from Target.
Found a nice sheer face powder from Sonia Kashuk. Honestly, it was the simple sleek packaging that lured me in. The powder itself is very fine and gives a nice smoothing effect. For around $10, would definitely recommend.
Also picked up this illuminating/glow powder. Again, the snake like pattern and contrast between the black and white got me! I swear I can't be trusted alone in a store. Not surprisingly, the powder is a weird gel-like consistency. I find it really hard to get enough of it on a brush to actually transfer to my face. Although I don't really notice any effect on my face, it was worth it just to own it...I guess.

And completely random...
WTF?
So I watched this over the weekend and still have no idea what the point/message/idea was behind this movie. It was semi entertaining, but was better once James Franco's character appeared...but then was still a ball of wtf. Did this movie make sense to anyone?

That scene with Britney Spears' "Everytime"... WHAT? Lol but now I'm addicted to that song so I guess you could say I was semi inspired by the film? Though Franco's last few scenes were...uplifting in an extremely weird kind of way? I honestly have no clue how I even feel about the whole thing.

But until next time,

Love,

Snowed In

Hi hi!
Off of work *again* due to snow, so decided to actually do something today.
Have a quick haul post for the first half of March. Tried actually editing and playing with my photos so there's less to read, and to give the post a more modern and mature look.

Enjoy!

I also have tumblr now!
